Know It By Heart

It has been a while since I last shared my random thoughts, yet I keep claiming they are the definition of me being different from most of my peers. In order to show you just what goes on in my head sometimes, I thought it would be fun to give you regular peeks into my mind and pick your brains over the same matters.

Let’s start this off with a silly thing I’ve often asked myself, even though my answer never seems to change:

Personally, I would be Iceland: it’s an isolated country that may come across as not wanting to be part of anything, but if you get to know it nothing is less true as the people there are very kind and warm. Its nature is tough yet absolutely stunning and the weather is fickle and changeable. In fact, my tour guide there once said “Iceland doesn’t have weather, it has weather circumstances”.

To top it off: Iceland is mysterious, unpredictable, and harbours some of the most amazing mythical stories. It is secluded, relatively safe (from crime – did you know in Iceland they have more sheep than inhabitants?) and it only attracts people who are really interested in getting to know this beautiful place. And once you’ve been there, you instantly want to go back again!

I would be Iceland because, based purely on looks, it seems like a rough country to visit, yet when you get to know it better you see it has so much more to offer than you initially thought. Iceland does things its own way, and that’s exactly how I like to live my life πŸ™‚

What country would you be and why? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Is Iceland really a “hot spot”? Well, good for them! That country is so beautiful it deserves a lot of positive attention πŸ™‚

I can’t disagree with you on either Canada or England as I’ve visited both and loved both. Oh dear, those waffles in Canada and the amazing nature (bears! <3) and then the idyllic villages of England… Yeah that'd be a tough one to choose from.

      1. I don’t know, Samantha. Except for living in London a year and New Jersey a year, I am a born and raised Chicagoan. I suppose France because the food is so good.

        1. Tony, if you were France I’d like the country more than I do now, so I’d say: good pick! Ohhh, just think of all that good wine and cheese and pain and pain au chocolats and all the sweets and deserts…

If humans were countries, we’d still be able to pay visits to each other, right? πŸ˜‰

          1. lololol Samantha! with your post as well as each of these comments, I think, “hmmm… maybe I should pick that one” lol — maybe I’d just be some sort of sunbeam that stretches from one place to another as I feel like seeing — or eating! πŸ™‚
